O’Dea Memorial Plaques

 
 

Members of the O'Dea Clan are invited to submit a request for the installation of a memorial plaque at the Dysert O'Dea Castle for a deceased family member.

A memorial board has been erected inside the O’Dea Castle. The location of the Castle is:
Dysert O’Dea Castle & Clare Archaeology Centre
Corofin, County Clare, Ireland

The board is 30.5 inches by 20.625 inches (77.5 cm by 52.4 cm) and has 48 1 inch by 3 inches (2.5 cm by 7.6 cm) brass name plates, as per the image below:

Memorial Board

Engraving on each plate is limited to three lines of text and a total of 120 characters including blanks and punctuation.  The area on each plate available for engraving is 7/8 inch by 2 ½ inches (2.2 cm by 6.4 cm).

One format is:

  • Name
  • Birth and death dates
  • Place (e.g. place of birth, residence or death)

Other formats are acceptable.  For example:

  • Husband's name with birth and death dates
  • Wife's name with birth and death dates
  • Place

OR

  • Name
  • Place and date of birth
  • Place and date of death

Currently the cost of an engraved brass plate is €100.  Please send your name and contact details (address, phone number and email address), the wording you would like and a cheque for your plaque to one of your Clan Representatives below.
